The shed has a 22 5 degree slope but you can very easily adjust it to suit your needs. This is part 2 of the small garden shed plans where i show you how to build the gable roof. A gable roof is a simple symmetrical triangular roof. Use three 3 inch long screws and drive each one solidly into a wall stud. Lift up the gable end truss and set it down onto the resting cleats which should be screwed in place about 3 feet above the ground raise one end of the truss about 2 feet then move up the cleat. The shed comes with overhangs on all sides and with sturdy trusses.

To build your gable roof you ll need wooden boards cut into joists rafters supports and a ridge board in addition to sheathing felt paper and shingles. Check out the rest of the projects for detailed instructions on how to make the frame for the shed. Securely fasten one resting cleat to each corner of the shed. Putting it together is relatively straight forward if you have basic carpentry skills and use precise measurements.
