You can then manually move the door to the opener carriage or use the doors remote and it will connect automatically. Garage door openers are handy appliances until something goes wrong then they can actually make it harder to open the door. In both instances you will hear a loud click as the attachment point reconnects. Step 2 raise the garage door fully.

You will hear a loud click when the trolley attaches back to the carriage. The emergency release cord is there to make sure that doesn t happen. Simply slide the door along the track until the attachment point is re engaged. Some units will actually reconnect themselves but this is not typically the case.

The first thing to do is hit the door button. Pull the emergency release rope toward the opener motor head. The next step is to go to the inside of the garage door. If simply hitting the button does not work you will have to take more action.

When the time comes to reconnect your garage door simply pull the emergency release cord back toward the door to re engage the spring lever. Or you can hit your garage door opener remote and the opener carriage will reconnect with the trolley through the attachment point automatically.
