Garage door needs button has to be held.
My garage door will open by just pressing the button once but to close it i have to hold in the button until it fully closes.
Within this 30 second time period press and hold the button on the hand held remote.
When i disconnect the carriage and manually move door it seems to move smoothly in both directions.
The learn indicator light will glow steadily for 30 seconds.

You are overriding the infrared beam sensor when you hold down the wall button continuously while the garage door is closing.
